Why Are Scotty Dogs So Popular?

Well, for one they're cute!

Fanciers of the breed sure want to see their fur baby displayed everywhere (and Cairn Terrier owners as well as those who own Westies will often accept the Scotty as 'theirs.')

Scottish Terriers and their prominent placement on many vintage items goes back to President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his dog, Fala. Obviously, the dog's popularity is again revisited with those who seek the nostalgic with vintage pieces.

As for me, neither a fanatic of FDR or a Scotty dog owner, I can only say I just love the look of these little doggies. On this pretty jade green glass dish, these dogs do guard duty for my jewelry and other dainty trinkets. (Sure, it's a butterdish, but once it's mine I can put in it what I want -- & I need a place to store my other chotchkes! When you buy one, you can put whatever you'd like in it.)
